Applying the Bowtie Method to Operational Risk Management (VERTICON Foundations)

This session will be hosted by Gerald Kosbab as part of the VERTICON FOUNDATIONS program from 2:45 to 3:45 PM in Rooms C144-C145. Attendees will develop a basic understanding of the Bowtie Method and how it can be used to strengthen and clarify their Operational Risk Management responsibilities. They will also develop skills in identifying and analyzing operational hazards in rotorcraft operations using visual Bowtie techniques that aid in communicating risk across the organization.

This course introduces the Bowtie Methodology and its use in analyzing and controlling the risk associated with operational hazards through use of a highly visual method.
Risk is decomposed into it's various components, identifying threats and consequences and the appropriate controls necessary to mitigate risks to the organization, it’s people and assets to an acceptable level.
